This policy explains how we collect and use your personal data when you use conservatoryroofcosts.co.uk.

Who we are

This website is operated by Known By One LLC, 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, Delaware 19713, United States. We are the data controller for the personal data you provide. For any privacy question, email contact@conservatoryroofcosts.co.uk.

What we collect

• Contact details you enter: your name, email address, phone number and postcode.
• Project details you enter into our cost calculator: your conservatory’s style, size, current and desired roof type, and related options.
• Your email address, if you ask us to email you a copy of your estimate. We send it once and do not add you to any list.
• Basic technical data your browser sends (such as your IP address) needed to serve the site securely.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to generate and display your cost estimate, to email you a copy of it if you ask, to record your enquiry, and, where you have requested it and suitable coverage is available, to pass your enquiry to a local installer so they can contact you about a survey and quote. Our lawful bases are:

• Consent for passing your enquiry to an installer. You give it by ticking the introduction box on the calculator, or by replying to your estimate email and asking us to arrange an introduction. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, although an installer we have already passed your details to will hold them under their own privacy notice.
• Performance of the service you asked for (our legitimate interest in running it) for calculating and emailing your estimate, keeping a record of your enquiry, and following up with you about it.

Who we share it with

Installers. Where we can make the introduction you requested, we pass your name, contact details, postcode and project details to a local installer so they can discuss the work and a survey with you. Our current practice is to introduce you to no more than one installer per enquiry. If no suitable coverage is available, we tell you and do not share the enquiry. Installers are independent businesses and separate data controllers; how they handle your details afterwards is governed by their own privacy notice. We may receive a fee from an installer for an introduction. That fee does not change the estimate you are shown.

Service providers who process data on our instructions: website hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Cloudflare), an internal alerts channel (Slack) that receives your project details and postcode area but never your name, email address or phone number, and, only if you accept cookies, site analytics (Microsoft Clarity, described under Cookies below).

We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone else, except where required by law. If you tell us the figure from a quote you already have, we record only the figure and your project details, not who you are.

International transfers

Known By One LLC operates from the United States, so your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the US. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records, including introduction requests, for up to 12 months from the date you submit them so we can follow up, resolve any dispute about an introduction and account for any fee, then delete them. Estimate emails are sent and not stored by us beyond our mail provider’s delivery logs.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, object to processing, or provide it in a portable form. To do any of these, email contact@conservatoryroofcosts.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use no advertising cookies. With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site: which pages they read, where they click and scroll, and where the calculator confuses people. Clarity records this as heatmaps and session replays using first- and third-party cookies. It hides what you type into the postcode, contact and email fields, so we never see those in a replay. Microsoft processes this data, including in the US; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Clarity loads only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, or change your mind later using “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page, no analytics cookies are set and Clarity deletes any it already set. We also store your choice in your browser so we do not ask again.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
